Allows for higher speeds and bandwidth
(~30GHz uplink & ~20GHz downlink)
The Ka-band has emerged as the next big thing in satellite technology in recent years, representing a real alternative to the well-established Ku-band. With a higher frequency, you can extract more bandwidth from a Ka-band system, which means a higher data transfer rate and, therefore, higher performance. Ka-band high-throughput satellite (HTS) coverage is created by many smaller ’spot’ beams whose hot spots can be ‘stitched’ together, resulting in highly consistent coverage.
Today’s most commonly used band for satellite VSAT systems
(~14GHz uplink and ~12GHz downlink)
Ku-band needs no introduction. This proven technology, widely employed for many years, is still widely used today thanks to the supplied constellation of operating satellites that adopt it, capable of covering a large part of the Earth's planisphere. RadioTech is able to provide the service even in Ku band for all those who are already equipped on-board with this technological infrastructure and wish to maintain it.
Don't choose one, take them both!
Since there are a number of satellites currently in orbit which function on the Ku-band, there won't be a problem finding a backup satellite to maintain a continuous link in case the main satellite results in a blockage zone position or if you are navigating in an area not yet covered by the Ka-band service. Our partnership with the leading company SkyComm has allowed the birth of a revolutionary product capable of combine both the Ku and Ka band worlds at the same time in a single antenna. The SkyComm M75 Ku/Ka Dual Band antenna is able to provide the support of both the bands so that you won't have to choose.
